ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION AND STROKES
Abstract:
Arterial hypertension (AHT) gravity depends on the complications given to other target organs: brain, heart and kidneys. The neurological complications are multiple: hypertensive encephalopathy, stroke and vascular dementia. Strokes are the most common complications responsible for high mortality (30-45% within 6 months) despite the progress made in the recent years in the field of neuro-imaging (computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) and in acute phase treatments (thrombolysis).
