INEQUITIES IN ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE AMONG THE RURAL PATIENTS
Abstract:
The access to medical services is related to the
life standard of the insured population. A large number of
individuals, despite of the fact that they are insured, have
limited access to the medical assistance due to the very
limited budget of their households. Poor families cannot
afford co-paying for the medical services and for the
medicines supply, transportation and extra payment for
the doctors and the medical auxiliary staff. The purpose
of this study is to emphasise these inequities regarding the
accessibility of the population, especially of the rural
population, to the medical assistance. The results prove
that the rural population accesses the medical services
with difficulty because of expenses, transportation,
distance, all these influencing negatively the answer to
their medical problems.
