SUBCLINICAL ATHEROSCLEROSIS: GENERAL CONCEPTS AND ASSESSMENT METHODS
Abstract:
The subclinical atherosclerosis, together with its complications (stenosis, thrombosis,
embolism) is one of the most important pathological condition found in cardiology and neurology. Having
a growing incidence, it has a devastating influence not only regarding the life expectancy, but also
regarding its quality, becoming the main cause of morbidity and mortality. It is presented the most successful
assessment method in order to reveal subclinical vascular damage and organ dysfunction.
