GIANT BILATERAL INGUINAL HERNIA- ORIGINAL SURGICAL ATTITUDE: CASE REPORT
Abstract:
The term giant inguinal hernia refers to an inguinal hernia that extends below the midpoint of
inner thigh when the patient is in standing position. Loss of intraabdominal domain is a major problem
that leads to a complex surgical approach of these hernias. We present the case of a patient who was
operated for a giant bilateral inguinal hernia. The preferred method was the augmentation of the
anterior abdominal wall with auto and alloplastic material, epidural anesthesia being sufficient in
successfully conducting this surgery. The surgery was performed in two stages, separate for each side,
