CLINICAL IMPORTANCE OF THE LINGUAL NERVE. A STUDY ON HUMAN BODIES
Abstract:
The lingual nerve represents one of the terminal branches of the mandibulary nerve. It boasts extraordinary importance in the infratemporal region due to its topographic relations with the anatomical elements of the region. Furthermore, it can be located externally or internally to the maxillary artery; it can be the most voluminous branch of the manidbulary nerve and can feature anastomotic branches with the inferior alveolary nerve through the eardrum’s chord.
