THE PATHOGENIC POTENTIAL OF PERIODONTAL BACTERIA
Abstract:
In the present study we aimed to bring to the fore the most common bacteria with a role in
the production of periodontal disease. We have also highlighted the way in which they act in the oral
cavity, the way in which they are grafted onto the structures and tissues in the oral cavity and the
concrete way in which they play their devastating role. Knowledge of the types of microbes involved in
this disease can lead to the development of methods to eradicate them, so that this pathology,
increasingly common especially in middle-aged and elderly people, can be stopped or even treated.
